SGCMH did it again!

4/13/2018

Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital (SGCMH) has been named one of the “150 Great Places to Work in Healthcare” by the health news publication, Becker’s Hospital Review. This is the fourth time in the last five years that SGCMH has received this recognition. Only one other hospital in Missouri earned the honor this year and they are located in the Kansas City area.
The organizations featured on this 2018 list offer benefits and opportunities for employees to build successful careers above and beyond the average healthcare provider or company. They encourage professional development and promote leadership from within. Many members of the list offer unique wellness and personal benefits to ensure employees strike a positive work/life balance as well as employee recognition programs to highlight their accomplishments.
“At Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital, we’re dedicated to creating an engaged workplace full of diverse ideas and people,” said Tom Keim, CEO. “We strive to be the provider of choice by being the employer of choice. We offer our employees professional development opportunities, plus healthy lifestyle rewards. We’re proud that these efforts have earned us national recognition as a great place to work in health care.”
Becker’s Hospital Review accepted nominations and developed an editorial review process to recognize organizations that have gone above and beyond to make their hospitals, health systems and companies great places to work.
Becker’s took note of SGCMH’s Missouri Hospital Association honor for best practices in multiple fields, including its antimicrobial stewardship program, its opioid reduction program and its sepsis protocol/order sets. The hospital’s leadership awards bonuses after meeting patient satisfaction goals, and both full-time and part-time employees receive a bonus when the hospital exceeds its budgeted EBITDA. In addition, employees also receive 50 percent off membership at the medical weight loss clinic.
“It takes the talent and hard work of all of our doctors, nurses and health care staff to give the highest quality care to our patients and their families,” said Keim. “We create an employee environment where staff can use their greatest strengths every day in service to others. Our hospital family provides outstanding, compassionate care each and every day, and that makes us a great facility. Every one of our employees plays a vital role in making things happen in their departments and for healthcare in our community.”
