SGCMH Partners make final payment toward patient beds

5/27/2016

The Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital Partners, formerly known as the Auxiliary, made their third and final installment for the purchase of seven more patient beds. To date, the Partners have raised approximately $126,000 to purchase 21 patient beds for Med Surg.
The new beds are manufactured by Stryker, and Hirshell Parker, director of Med Surg said the new beds not only provide more comfort, but also come equipped with all the bells and whistles to provide for more patient care and safety. The new beds already in place have been a welcome addition to the patients and staff.
“It’s taken us approximately three years to raise the money to purchase all the needed patient beds,” said Naomi Glassey, SGCMH Partners president. “It was a huge project, but we were so glad to do it.
Tom Keim, SGCMH CEO, said the Partners help the hospital in many ways.
“Their volunteer efforts are used at the Information Desk, Gift Shop, community health fairs and blood drives, just to name a few,” he said. “There are over 200 Partners who have baked, quilted, smiled, directed, sold, informed and most of all given of themselves countless hours to help others and the hospital. We’re proud to have them on our team.”
