Health Insurance
What is it? Medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug benefits through Meritain Health.
When are you Eligible? Employees are eligible after 30 days of employment.
Who Participates? Participation is voluntary for full-time employees working 64 hours per pay period.
When can you enroll? Employee’s only opportunity to enroll is upon hire or if there is a change in family circumstance, as outlined in the Plan Document. Open enrollment is available every third year.
Healthlink Open Access Network allows you to seek care from any provider you choose within the network. Deductibles and co-pays will apply for this plan. However, you get the biggest benefit if you use the SGCMH network.
Life Insurance
What is it? Equal to one times your annual earnings up to a maximum of $500,000. Employees may purchase additional life insurance at their expense.
Who Participates? Full & part-time employees working 40 hours or more per pay period
When are you Eligible? First of the month following probation

In Patient Services and Out-Patient Services
What is it? 50% employee, spouse and minor children discount after insurance on hospital-billed services.

Long Term Disability
What is it? Is available as a source of income protection. SGCMH pays 100% of the premium for LTD up to 50% of your monthly income (up to $5,000) beginning 90 days after notice of your disability. Employees also have the option of purchasing 10% additional coverage at a group rate totaling 60% of your monthly income (up to $6,000) beginning 180 days after notice of your disability.

Pension Plan
What is it? Your contributions through CPI are deferred from income taxes until you draw them out at retirement unless you choose the 403(b) Roth option. The Hospital will match 50 cents on the dollar up to a maximum hospital contribution of 3% of the employee’s monthly wages. You will be automatically enrolled in the Retirement Savings Plan. You have 45 days from your hire date to decline your participation, otherwise 3% of your gross pay will be deducted from your paycheck and contributed to your Retirement Savings Plan account and will be invested in the American Cash Management Trust of America A. PTO
What is it? Flexible use of paid time off (PTO) is based upon hours paid and length of service. New employees accrue .0962 per hour paid up to a max of 200 hours for a 2080 hours paid. The account may accrue up to a maximum bank balance of 320 hours. PTO Sell-Back: Employees have the option to sell back up to 80 hours of the accrued PTO hours at full-dollar value. PTO Gift Program: Contributing employees may transfer PTO to the PTO Gift Fund at any time. PTO gifted to an employee may not be cashed out through PTO buy back provisions.

Short Term Income Protection Plan (STIPP)
What is it? STIPP hours are reserved for employees who need sick time while off work. Employees accrue .05385 reserve sick hours per hour worked (up to fourteen days per year). Stipulations apply.

Flexible Spending Account
What is it? You may set aside dollars on a pre-tax basis for eligible health care or dependent care expenses.

Holiday Pay
What is it? Employees receive 1.5 times their base pay rate for hours worked on designated holidays. Holidays include New Year, Labor Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

Rest Periods
What is it? Two 10-minute breaks per each shift. All employees who work a shift of five hours or more are entitled to a 30-minute unpaid meal break

What is it? Medical coverage and percent of income for on-the-job injury or illness.

Bereavement Pay/Jury Duty
What is it?
Bereavement Pay :In the event that a death in the family occurs, employees may be eligible for bereavement leave upon employment. Up to 3 days for immediate family and up to 2 days for extended family may be taken. A request for bereavement leave must be made to the employee’s supervisor as soon as the employee is informed of such death.
Jury Duty: If an employee is called for jury duty, he/she must immediately provide his/her supervisor with written notice. Hospital encourages employees to fulfill civic responsibilities.

What is it? Employees receive substantial meal discounts. Free coffee and tea

What is it? Hospital employees are eligible for a $90 discount on any type of annual membership at the Ste. Genevieve County Community Center. Just show your hospital I.D. at the community center when you sign up for a membership.

What is it? Provides free, short term confidential counseling through St. John’s Mercy to help you and your family through stressful times. Three sites are available: Ste.
