Tom Keim receives from the hospital auxiliary the second installment in
the $25,000 make-over project of the OB patient rooms.
Renovation
work in the patient rooms at the Women’s Health and Childbirth Center at
Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital (SGCMH) is nearly complete thanks
to the hospital’s auxiliary. The auxiliary is funding the $25,000
make-over project that includes new floors, furniture, paint and
cabinetry.
The
auxiliary recently turned over the second $10,000 funding check to Tom
Keim, SGCMH CEO.
“Our
patient rooms are much more patient friendly with a warmer, more
comfortable feel,” said Keim. The rooms now have the look and feel of
being home instead of at a hospital. We thank the auxiliary for their hard
work and for making this project possible.”
Toni
Vaeth, SGCMH Auxiliary President, said project like this make their
volunteer efforts all the more enjoyable.
“Our
Auxiliary considers it a privilege to help fund the OB renovations,” said
Vaeth. “The effects will be long lasting as we continue to see our
hospital grow this department. Moms, their new babies and family members
are enjoying the comfort of a beautiful room. I hope the community will
have a chance to visit the redecorated rooms soon.”
Keim
said the changes on the OB floor reinforce the hospital’s commitment to
women’s services.
“Our
OB staff is second to none, and we have three outstanding practitioners in
Sara A. Meyer, MD, obstetrician/gynecologist, Tony Lam, MD,
obstetrician/gynecologist, and Angela Misuraco, WHNP-BC,” he said. “We
offer women’s services at our Bloomsdale Family Health Center, and added
water births to our list of options for expectant moms. We are not only
committed to women’s services, we’re committed to growing our service as
well.”
