Inpatient care is provided to patients who remain in the hospital during and after receiving healthcare services at Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital. It is the goal of every staff member to ensure that you receive the finest care possible. To meet your needs, we have many services to care for you while you are here. It is our tradition of treating the whole person, and our compassion for patients and families in times of need, that sets us apart from other health care facilities and attracts the highest caliber of physicians, nurses and support professionals.
PRIVATE ROOMS
All but a few of our rooms are private rooms and private baths are in the renovation process now. In most rooms, recliners are available for family members. In addition, a nurse call system notifies the patient’s assigned nurse. During your hospital stay, a multidisciplinary team will be involved in all aspects of your care, including your discharge. This team includes your physician, nurse, therapist, case manager and social worker. They will talk to you about your discharge from the hospital shortly after you are admitted, to ensure that your needs will be met when it's time to return home.
PATIENT INTERNET ACCESS
Patients may bring their laptops and our IS Department will make sure they get hooked up and can e-mail their friends and family members.
DISCHARGE PROCEDURES
An admission folder will be provided to you on your admission day. This folder provides you with important information concerning your hospital stay and discharge. Let your discharge planning team know if you have any questions or need to speak to them to address a concern you many have.
HELPING YOU AFTER YOUR STAY
If you need any services at discharge, the discharge planning team will meet with you to talk about these arrangements. Services can include home healthcare, outpatient therapies or medical equipment. Following some hospital stays, additional care and treatment will be needed. In these instances, the discharge team will help assist you to find an acceptable nursing home, subacute or rehabilitation center that best meets your needs. |
