How You Can Contribute

makedonation

Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital is a community hospital with a strong history of local support. From its modest beginnings, Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital has grown to a major referral center and primary care provider. Friends of Ste Genevieve County Memorial Hospital is a not-for-profit organization supported by the generosity of individuals, families and corporations to ensure continued excellence in quality medical care for the community.

Every Dollar Counts
Each year, hundreds of generous donors - former patients, local businesses and foundations - contribute to the Friends Foundation. They make a difference in the lives of countless people who depend on their community hospital. You can feel great knowing that your contribution makes a tangible difference - felt by our patients every day. Your donation - no matter how big or how small - goes a long way toward helping to improve the quality of care at Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital. Donations support the purchases for state-of-the-art, technologically advanced equipment and also help to maintain key services. Here are just a few examples of how donated funds have been put to use at SGCMH:
  • 64 Slice CT Scanner
  • Newborn Infant Car Seats for the OB Department
  • Bariatric Wheelchair for the Diagnostic Imaging Department
  • Portable Cardiac Monitor for the Emergency Department
  • AEDs for all Physician Office Locations
  • Training Manikin for Nursing Education
  • Defibrillators for Cardiac Rehab and Surgery Departments
  • Fetal Monitor for the OB Department
  • Infant Abduction Prevention system for the OB Department

How to Give

While you'll gain the satisfaction of knowing you made a difference, often there are significant tax advantages and long-term financial benefits for donors and their loved ones. We can work with your attorney or tax advisor to create a charitable giving plan tailored to your individual interests and circumstances. Here are some of the options available:

Cash - Most of the contributions to Friends are cash, which is the easiest gift for a donor to make and for our organization to receive.

Appreciated Stocks, Bonds and Real Estate - A gift of publicly-traded, appreciated securities, bonds or employee stock options qualifies for special tax benefits.

Bequest - By putting the Friends Foundation in your will, you can ensure that your assets are well invested in the lives of Ste. Genevieve patients.

Life Income Agreements - The Charitable Gift Annuity and Charitable Remainder Trust are options that create a significant legacy for the future while generating income for life.

Endowment - The annual income from an endowed gift can be designated by the donor for the general benefit of the hospital or designated for a specific purpose or program.

Retirement Benefits - Pensions, retirement plans, 401 (K) plans, IRAs and other tax-deferred instruments are one of the most attractive ways to give.

Life Estate Agreement on Real Property – You may leave a bequest of part or your entire home to the Friends Foundation. If you are considering this, you may want to create a Life Estate Agreement, which enables you to receive a very significant charitable income tax deduction.

Life Insurance - You can designate the foundation as the beneficiary of an existing life insurance policy or a new policy.
