Psychiatry and Counseling

Assistance    Compassion    Support    Empathy Lifestyle Changes

Sometimes it is difficult to cope with marriage or family conflicts, job pressures, anxiety, depression, or the other stresses of life. Here at Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital our counseling professionals care. We offer hope through treatment for these issues by affirming the needs of the whole person—body, mind, and spirit. Inherent to this philosophy is a respect for each client’s faith and values and their decision whether or not to incorporate these into treatment. Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital Psychiatry and Counseling Services is a confidential behavioral health program that welcomes adults, children and families. Patients can be seen in an outpatient therapeutic environment individually, as a couple or in a family/group setting.

The counseling program is designed to quickly return patients to their optimal level of functioning that includes assessment and treatment. The benefits of counseling include:

  • help patients make sense of their lives and relationships
  • increases their understanding of how to approach life’s challenges
  • help people understand their options and facilitate a healthy adjustment to health and mental health problems
