2020 New Year Baby!


Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital (SGCMH) welcomes first baby of 2020

Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital is pleased to announce the birth of Keatyn James Basile who has won the “First Baby of the Year” promotion by SGCMH and local area businesses. Tony Lam, MD was the delivering physician.

 Baby boy, Keatyn was born on January 1, at 11:45 am, weighing 8 pounds, 7 ounces and 20 3/4 inches long.  The parents, Renee and Valentino Basile of Bloomsdale were excited and thrilled about their new baby being the first of the New Year.  

Mom was excited to see Keatyn since being in labor for many hours. 

“We came in on the Dec. 30th and he finally came on January 1,” said Renee. “I was not expecting him to take so many hours to come.”

Little Keatyn was greeted by his siblings, Stefano, 9, Isabella, 6, and Azalya, 2. 

Being the first baby on January 1 as the New Year baby was a nice surprise for them all.

Keatyn and his parents, Renee and Valentino were showered with gifts from area merchants including: a one night stay at the Microtel Inn & Suites; $20 gift card from Audubon’s Grill & Bar; $30 gift card from Sirro’s; $100 gift card from the Ste. Genevieve Community Center; $25 Walmart gift card and a swag bag with lots of goodies from First Bank; diapers and more from SGCMH and a baby quilt from SGCMH Auxiliary/Partners.  

Cynthia Glassey, partners/auxiliary president and Toni Vaeth, quilting chair presented the gifts to the family.

The family was very appreciative for all the gifts and thanked the hospital and businesses for their support. 

Ste.
