SGCMH Back to School Program a Success

The Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital (SGCMH) 2019 Back to School program held August 1 at the DuBourg Centre was another success, with over 100 kids and parents participating.

“It is a great way to help the students in the community get ready for school,” commented Tina Poston, marketing director for SGCMH. “Students were excited about receiving backpacks and supplies for the upcoming school year.”

After collecting school supplies everyone enjoyed a nice lunch sponsored by WellCare and SGCMH, along with other activities.

The hospital conducted height and weight checks and offered families a chance to win tickets to the newly opened Ste. Genevieve Community Center’s River Rapids water park sponsored by the Rotary Club of Ste. Genevieve.

The students and their parents were also greeted by other community organizations and businesses with resources for back to school including Community Counseling, Parents as Teachers, Retired Teachers Association, Home State Health and the Ste. Genevieve Sheriff’s Office. And, the Ste. Genevieve County Health department checked student’s immunization records. A special thanks to the DuBourg Centre for being a sponsor.

Mark your calendars, the 2020 event is scheduled for Thursday, July 30, 2020.
