The SGCMH Friends Foundation Giving Tree Program is Underway

Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital’s Friends Foundation Giving Tree is up and ready in the hospital’s front lobby. Residents are invited to fill the tree with ornaments in honor or memory of loved ones starting now through December 19.

“Showing loved ones how important they are makes a difference in their lives, especially during the holidays,” said Stacey Koeller, director, Friends Foundation. “By helping us decorate The Giving Tree, you get to choose how you want to celebrate someone’s life, and your gift to the Friends Foundation has a local impact in the health of our patients and community.”

The Giving Tree began in 2003, and has become an annual tradition. Families and friends can purchase an ornament in recognition of new arrivals, military members, loved ones lost, and special family members still living who are important to honor. Proceeds this year, unless earmarked specifically for another purpose by the purchaser, will be used to support the hospital.

Ornaments can be purchased at $10, $15, $30, $50 and $100 levels. If you would like to purchase an ornament to honor or memorialize a loved one contact Stacey Koeller at 573-883-7725 or by email at Secure donations can be made online at

Koeller added that if you have lost a loved one this past year, contact the Foundation and a complimentary dove with their name will be placed on the tree. A special listing of all of the giving tree honorees will appear on the hospital’s website and in the holiday issue of the Ste. Genevieve Herald.
