Oncology receives donations for patients

The oncology department recently received donations that patients can greatly use. Dawn Sevier, paramedic with the Ste. Genevieve Ambulance District (pictured at left with Jen Nees and Sandy Schilli) donated discount pharmacy from Klein’s Medicate. This was an employee initiative and the paramedics took a little out of each paycheck to make the donation. Sandy Schilli, Oncology Director, said patients greatly appreciate being able to use the discounts for their rather expensive medications.
Suzanna Harlow, a senior at Ste. Genevieve High School and a member of the National Honor Society (pictured at right, center with the oncology staff) used her talents and her loom to make caps for cancer patients. She used the project for school service hours, but she had a personal connection to the caps, too. Her aunt was a cancer patient and loved the cap that Suzanne made for her. So she decided to make 18 caps for the patients at the Alan P. Lyss Center for Cancer Care and Clinical Research.
