Students complete clinical rotation
Health Occupation students from the Perryville Area Career and Technology Center recently completed their rotation at Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital. Serving on the Medical/Surgical unit, they followed the certified nursing assistants as they provided the very important basic patient care, including vital signs, ambulating, feeding, and meeting activity needs. The education not only provides them with an understanding of patient care, but the responsibility rewards them with college credit. Their time ended on May 9th with a cake brought in gratitude for the time and knowledge given to them by the dedicated staff of the Medical Surgical unit. Course coordinator Sheila Brown, BSN, RN, stands in front of her students, with director Hirshell Parker and ward clerk Destayne Whitener are flanked by the students.
