SGCMH EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT
The SGCMH Emergency Department Medical Team consists mainly of nurses and physicians who are specially trained for adult and pediatric emergency medicine. Technicians provide assistance with laboratory tests, x-rays and other imaging tests, EKGs, respiratory care and treatments. This medical team is trained to treat all kinds of medical emergencies and is here to assist you 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Ste. Genevieve Hospital Emergency Department is a member of the Mid America Stroke Network, founded by St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, MO. The Network provides SGCMH Emergency Department with 24-hour access to stroke neuro-specialists and state of the art technology for consultative and diagnostic services.
Ste. Genevieve Hospital is also a member of the Missouri Baptist Heart LifeLine Alliance, developed by cardiologists at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in partnership with rural hospitals, medical helicopter and ambulances services. With one phone call, patients in outlying regions having an acute heart attack are transferred by helicopter or ambulance to the 24/7 Cath Labs at Missouri Baptist where they receive lifesaving treatment to open blocked heart arteries.The Missouri Poison Center, staffed by nurses, pharmacists and physicians assists the Emergency Department Medical Team in managing poisonings, overdoses and exposures. Through phone and fax links to Poison Center staff and databases, treatment information is obtained instantly.
Services such as orthopedics, cardiology, neurology and psychiatric services are available to patients through consulting specialists.
